Parisa’s Art

February 10, 2008

Artist’s statement

The avenues of self-expression and spirituality found in art have enabled me to open up to myself and the outside world.

There’s an amount of experiment involved in the process whereby the work emerges out of chaos. There’s also an element of refinement and reduction. I rely on memories and associations, of places as well as feelings translated through gesture to make spontaneous abstract marks.

The mystery of art’s relationship to language and it’s rhythms and meanings are very engaging. The ways that all the senses overlap each other and come together to form a harmonic synthesis and unity is of prime interest.

Lovely work,Parisa.I’d be happy to have it on my walls and I don’t say that about much of the work I see. Thanks for putting it up,Steve.

  2. Liam Says:

What a glowing personal world evoked through the medium of paint, for those who have eyes to see! Strength to you, Steve, for giving space to Parisa’s beautiful work.

  3. angela Says:

No dimensions; unsure whether group of three represents one picture, or each individual.

One of interest, can you guess which one?

  4. Parisa Says:

Angela – I wonder who are you?! Do I know you – you me?! They are triptych & were done as such but they don’t necessarily have to be – ie they can be seen individually. I do like working in triptych or diptych. The larger works are 50″ x 30″ (“Floating World”) “Hidden” is 14″ x 18″. Deux Portraits are 14′ x 18″. The Triptychs are 6″ x 6″ & 4″x4″. “At My Little Window” triptych is 8″ x 5″. I work larger & smaller than these sizes too.

Cannot guess which one – no notion.Hidden? Floating World? Do say.

Mishari – thanx for your gracious comments. Also Liam. Cheers.

Love the MIRROW GLOW and all very interesting – lovely site…………..London, UK

  7. angela Says:

    Parisa,

Yes I believe you do know me; I am a ghost/spirit/angel

Which one: ‘At my little window on the right,’ but should be much larger.

btw how was Mirrow Glow done? or is that a trade secret?

  8. Parisa Says:

Angela – are you really there?! I only know one or two ghosts but many angels & more humans. I appreciate the crit – my beloved pa used to always make practical suggestions about my paintings – & what you say here is good – I think your point is worth considering – but when one is painting, the painting finds it’s appropriate size itself – in the process of making the marks on the canvas. But I might attempt to make a larger one of “at my little window” – it’s a fave of mine so you have a good taste!!!Mirror Glow is all done by mirrors – it’s as simple as that!

    best, P

    Parisa,

At your little window; do you see how the picture is becoming clearer?

  11. Dr.Herman Zeffertt Says:

These paintings are very good, interesting and I think that this artist could achieve fame by exhibiting in the right places.

There should be more details of the artist. I hope that this website will exhibit more of her works and that she will go from strength to strength

Frames and overlays; the contrasts of colour and mood; movement – impulses, expressed through brush strokes; and key items – books, papers, faces. Intense images with much to absorb and ponder. Thank you for sharing these jewels.

  14. niHualihain Says:

I liked the deux portraits the best but all the paintings are wonderful and mysterious.

Increadibly warm, inviting pieces. Does the artist show in the UK? I’m really taken by her use of shape and colour, it draws one in. Lovely work.

Very interesting work. Thought provoking. Striking colours. Even more striking imagery. A depth to this work which leads one to ask: what next to come from this artist? Would show up most of the work currently exhibited.
